Hiya,

We're currently using Groupshield v4.5 and I've got my grubby mits on the new Groupshield. I was wondering if anyone has installed it yet? I'd like to be prepared for any 'features' it might throw up, especially as it's an exchange server I'm installing it on.

I was also wondering if it's sorted out the AVAPI problem with resolving names. The readme claims it has, but I'd like to know for sure as this is one of the extra's that is persuading me to install it (if it ain't broke, don't fix it type thing!).

TIA,

Kris.

GroupShield Exchange 5.0 for Exchange 5.0 has that AVAPI problem fixed. You should see the sender/recipient info with this new version. Plus its a lot faster.

I agree with AVChap,

our parent company was involved in testing the Beta release of groupshield 5.0 and they encounterd only one bug that was solved right away.

I'me using Groupshield 5.0 on 3 exchange 5.5 servers at the moment (for 1,5 weeks now) and had no problems what so ever.
(updated from 4.5 as recommended).

I also noticed a preformance upgrade and the sender/recipient info is great :)

For me another big advantage is that GShield 5.0 works together with Epolicy Orchestrator. This makes life a lot easyer. Automated policy's across our domains, and a great
reporting tool.

If you can update to 5.0 do it right away.

Thanks fellas, looks like I'll be scheduling some weekend work v. soon :)

We installed GS5 on our Exchange server and...uninstalled it after one week. Since it install we had problems on our clients usin Outlook whenever they received e-mail with an attachment. The error message was Rules in Error... on the clients. As if GS5 took too long to scan the attachment and was still scanning it when the client-rules in outlook wanted to copy the mail locally on the client-pc.
Anyone experienced this?

We installed GroupShield 5.2 for Exchange and everything worked perfect. Even administrating via ePO 2.5 works great.

Sorry, I installed GroupShield 5.2 on Exchange 2000. It's not released for Exchange 5.5.
