Will there be any problems adding a second Windows Server 2003 R2 to my existing Windows 2003 Server network?

I was just worried that when I promote the R2 version to a domain controller that it won't like the idea that my first domain controller was the original version of 2003 server...

If I recall, being that the R2 version has a later version of the schema you will need need to run dcpromo /adprep on your DC running the schema master FSMO role using the R2 CD. Others may want to confirm this though.

itsp1965 is correct. You'll need to extend the schema before you can make the R2 box a DC.

Also, R2 features will only be available on the R2 box.
