I am struggling to know basic building blocks to enable building a multiple paged web forms. Checkboxes and Textfields are the only components on each of the pages. Does anyone know of a working downloadable web form that will show me any light?
Many thanks
You might want to consider web building software such as dreamweaver to help you with that. Other than that forms are rather simple to construct. if you wan;t to pass data from one to another, you would need to store it in variables sent fromm one page to the next.
Many thanks. Does Dreamweaver use PHP, as the webspace does not accept cgi scripts, saying it's not safe? I can get hold of Dreamweaver4, will look around for any related web tutorials.
Yes Dreamnweaver has a very good PHP synatx highlighter, and will generate alot of PHP code related to database access automatically. For example it can generate a input form based on a table of a database with just a few clicks. It will create all the necessary PHP coding for it.
Its very helpfull when dealing with large cuantities of fields that require little o no altering between user input and db insertion. like chekcboxes and text fields.
And even when you need to alter the input in some way, there is plenty of felixibility.
If you meant if it can use anything other than PHP, it can. It can create the forms using any scripting language, that is javascript, vbscript, asps etc...
I particularly like the PHP deal. but that's just me.
