Any other way besides DISA to Externally Access F62 Paging?

I need to access the Feature 62 remotely from Non BCM Phones.

The external sources are 2 Nortel SIP phones 1140 sets I am testing. Besides DISA, which is convoluted, complicated and plagued with poor sound quality with paging (so bad that Nortel's instructions say to speak louder than normal to page with it), is there a way to access the F62 from my incoming SIP trunk DIDs without DISA?

My main goal from the 2 external SIP phones is to program an Autodial that will dial the DID and F62 at the same time and connect to the paging, all without the user having to type tons of codes?

Anyone know an ingenious way to set this up without additional paging equipment?

Thank you,

I believe you can set up an auto attendant that allows paging, but I'm sketchy at best on the details.

Hi Rusty,

Thank you for your response.

I attached something I found in 2007 to a previous post, it's exactly what you are talking about but no mention of how to do it lol :)

"If voicemail is answering the phones there, you could simply put a park and page branch that is not menued on either the primary or secondary branches of a CCR tree."

We answer all of our calls manually on our BCM, so we don't have a specified Auto Attendant, but I have excess SIP trunks, so I could set it up that way......once I figure out how!

DISA will not work on SIP trunks. You would need to terminate SIP trunks into a gateway and connect to BCM via ISDN or analogue. Strange, I know.

Thank Ecartman,

Is there a way to access paging if I set up an Auto Attendant for a particular SIP DID trunk? Similar to what's going on with Find me Follow me?

Cheers,

Maybe.

If I was trying something like this. I would route the DDI to a VM through AA/CCR. Then use park & page.

Never done before so cant say it will work. However, that would be my starting point.

You wouldn't have to include that information in your outgoing menu response. Only informed people know about the park and page link.

Just verified with an Avaya tech that only "pre recorded paging" can be done with the Auto Attendant, BUT.....I am thinking of experimenting with the Find Me Follow Me paging and see what I can come up with....
