I like CF.

I like Flash.

I am not sure I like Macromedia.

What are these DevNet Resource Kits? Should I just budget for them? Are they just part of the relationship like the Microsoft Licensing debacle? Are they worth the money? Do I have any alternative?

Every time I get involved with Macromedia, I end up confused about what I need, what I don't need, what's included, what's extra-charge-even-though-you-need-it-to-make-the-thing-you-just-bought-work-right, etc. So, any help or opinions would be great.

sooner or later macromedia are going to have to get their act together and include all these development tools as standard in much the same way VB does. (I mean bringing out a new product without something as basic as a data grid then saying here it is but its extra..who are they kidding)

i wouldnt pay them anything more for something i can either create myself or better still get as a free component else where.

and where components are concerned macromedia can only play catch up. i am a heavy user of components but rarely use the ones shipped and when i do its usually an extended version.

only thing i might consider paying for is communication server and only then if the price dropped dramatically.

Thanks! I kind of suspected that!

The question I am left with, then: any especially good places to go for components?

I did a keyword search here, and all I found were threads about how to use the MM components. I need equivalents to the tools that are commonly included in a development system -- combo box, datagrid, treeview, etc.
