We have installed in our backup installation a Virtual Tape Library from Diligent (the Protectier VT) and using in conjunction with our Legato Networker backup server.
We are not for the moment reaching the performance expected. I explain the situation:
The first days backups of our systems Exchange, Informix, Novell Netware and Unix did it in similar times and some somewhat inferior time. But these last days this situation has changed, in the case of the Exchange we have passed from 7 hours of total time of backup to 13 (this last night).
Looking at the Protectier server, it seems that most of the time is waiting for data of the disks ( with the command sar we have observed 14 to 25% of iowait).
Also we have already expired the 8.7 TB of space for the bookstore, without having a cycle fulfilled of copies of 15 days.
According to the product statistics, our HyperFactor ratio is 1.5, which it is not the ratio we have been talking about..
Any of us have some experience with that product or similar??
