Any large Access MDBs (data only, under ASP) out there?

I have an Access MDB (data only) running under an ASP application (old fashioned ASP - VBscript; Jscript). My MDB is about 25MB, and response time is fine at this time. Specs say it can get to 2GB. We will migrate to SQL Server, but want to put that off to a prudent point (ie as long as possible, but not so long that data becomes corrupt or response time suffers).

I'd be very interested in hearing maximum sizes of Access MDBs that others of you have running to support a web application - especially any others using it for data only, under standard ASP.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have used .mdb's (Access 97 with it's 1GB limit), of very close to that limit. This was , however for proof-of-concept/prototype.

It worked rather quickly for reading data. You should know that one of the key reasons Access is not a good choice for, say a client-server app is because of the fact that so much data gets schlepped across the network for even simple queries. If the .mdb is on the same box as IIS, or it's on, say, a gigabit backbone-connected server connected to IIS, then that issue largely dissapears, making Access more viable for read-only web apps.

SQL-server will always, in my opinion, be a better choice, but if you're strapped for cash/time/resources, then putting the Access .mdb on the IIS box will give you reasonable performance.
