Any known XP Pro and Lotus Notes 5.0.5 problems?

We have several machines here with XP as the OS(mine being one of them) and several months ago, almost a year, there started to arise a problem with Lotus Notes. When the user clicks on the Notes icon, you get the splash screen and then it opens a window to have you select the user id to use for Notes. When you select the user's id, it says File Not Found and then asks you for the user id again. Now, I know this is an issue with the names.nsf database, but I don't know why it is happening. It has happened to me now at least 4 times and to other XP users anywhere between 1-3 times, too. The only way around this I found was to back up the names.nsf, desktop.dsk, bookmarks.nsf and user.id and then reinstall lotus notes over the existing installation then copy the 4 files back to the data subfolder.

Anyone else encountering this problem and has there been any known problem with Notes 5.0.5 and XP Pro? I contacted our "gurus" at corporate and they said they have never heard of it and have been using XP Pro and Notes since XP Pro came out without problem. I could see if it was one machine doing this, but not 4 of them.

At one point I thought it was a power loss issue while running notes, notes not shutting down properly because the computer had lost power. This last time today though was not the case, I shut down the computer normally last night. And the other users with the same problem have not had the power loss issue either so that may have been a coincidence.

Thanks in advance.
