I'm trying to understand the most cost effective means of aggregating point to point DS0 level frame circuits. These FR ckts are created by striping out a single DS0 (64kbps) from multiple point-point T1s, then aggregating them back to a new T1 using a DACCS. i.e. 24 DS0s striped from 24 different T1s then groomed back to a sing new T1 that now contain 24 PVCs going to 24 different locations. This could be repeated up to 28 times which effectively puts me up to a T3 level(672 PVCs). I am currently doing this buy using a device that has a single T1 interface and can handle 24 PVCs. This device also provides the routing and FRADS. The cost per device is $1700.00 and to get to the T3 level (1x28) the cost becomes 28x1700=$47.600.
Any suggestions at what point I should look at a router with a DS3 interface and what the ballpark cost would be?
