any idea how do i disable sendmail on sun os 5.8. i used to do /etc/init.d/sendmail stop and kill smtpd.

Hi,

In /etc/rc2.d directory, rename S22Sendmail to lower s, s22sendmail. That should disable sendmail to start duirng boot time.

don't forget to do a ps -ef |sendmail to find the sendmail processes that are running and kill them.
