Hi,

I am working in a Global company. We are dealing with huge amount of data. And its increasing day by day
one of the problems we are facing with currently is the HD is getting out of space very often (more than once
everyday). Based on my understaning it is the maximum possible size (218 GBs) right?????

we are very much in a position to spend money on it and improve this problem.

I am not a IT technical person my self. I am a programmer but i am suffering from this problem as
my reports won't be delivered on time.

Is there any suggestion, idea, or any hint that might help us?

Will be appreciated.

best regards,

rahman

Although disk capacity is very cheap nowadays, it should not mean that everyone should use the disk to throw in every bit of data. You should see what is taking up space and clean the unnecessary things. It is my own experience that at least 25% of a disk can be cleaned if every user takes some time to weed out the unnecessary things. Mailboxes can be very convenient place to begin.

Depending on your hw/sw configuration, you can select raid, which usually ends up increased storage speed, reliability and speed, at a higher cost. Or you can use SATA or an additional IDE controller to add new drives.

Whichever solution you choose, you can be sure that the additional storage space will be promptly filled up if some rules are not enforced.

Good luck,
Engin
