We currently have Windows 2003 servers and have used Veritas 8.6 ver and BrightStor r11.5 SP3 on our daily tape backups. However, we keep getting so many issues. Can anyone suggest a good reliable tape backup software that would encrypt and compress 430Gb of data ? Thanks for any sugestions.

Any good reliable tape backup app other than Veritas or BrightStor ?

I use Retrospect at a client's office and have never had a problem with it.

I am ready to accept the slings and arrows in response to this but from the perspective of one that has worked in the industry since the mid 80s and specialized in back since the early 90s those two programs are the best there is and if you are having a lot of problems with both chances are very high the problems will continue regardless of which application you use.
