Hi,

I'm keen to learn how to setup a linux server, I'm a beginner at this and would like to know if anyone knows of any good sites which would tell me how to set up a basic server (with network card etc.).

Also, what does it take to make it an internet server?

Thanks

Hi,

The main 'official' repository of documentation is the linux documentation project at .

For a 'server' I guess you mean the equivalent to a NT server in which case you need to install and configure samba. See --> and
On the 'internet server' presumably you mean web server, i.e. apache. The docs are here --> .

Maybe easiest for a new user is to use a well supported rpm based distro like redhat or mandrake or suse and install the webmin admin tool on top -->
There are also a few online books amongst this lot -->

Hope this helps
