I'm trying to diagnose a network performance issue which involve a slow pcAnywhere connection.

The LAN environment is a 16 Port 10/100Mps Switch, also connected to to a 10Mbps Hub. Most PCs and Internet are on the 10/100 Switch.

Are there any good easy-to-use freeware available I can use to diagnose this problem?

I suspect it's either the hub or virus-related.

Thank you
Joe

Do a keyword search on tools. Among the flak there are several posts on network tools.

go to and do a search in the free software range. you will find a lot.

go to google and put in jrbarnett you should find John's freeserve site. Its got a great e-book on TCP/IP that has a list of network apps all freeware.

Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
