Any good Books on Indesign? 3

I have been designing magazine adds for a couple of companies - Up until now I have always used Photoshop to do this, but I'm getting more and more request to design brochures and I have purchased Indesign to start doing these larger projects. I am lost! Does anyone have any good book suggestions, or Training CD's they would recommend? THANKS!

Graphic Girl, there's some very good stuff out there. Sandee Cohen's Visual Quick Start Guide for InDesign is probably the best book to get you up and running quickly. Real World InDesign by Kvern and Blatner is an excellent power user's guide. The Training CD's from Total Training (

are also excellent. The series on InDesign feature Deke McClelland and it's a very good end-to-end training course on InDesign.

Keep an eye out for Digit or Computer Arts magazines at your bookstore. They are UK magazines with cover CDs that often contain tutorials. I picked up one that had a couple hours of QT tutorial videos (I believe these were sample videos from TotalTraining.com).

You can also look for QT videos on adobe.com

My library is already too full of design books. I find these training videos much more useful. Its easier to perform heart surgery after watching someone do it than to read about it in a book. If you have a good net connection, it should be no trouble in grabbing some videos from adobe.com
