I am scheduled to take the BCRAN 642-821 next week. I have not attended a BCRAN class and have been working with Catherine Paquet's book Building Cisco Remote Access Networks (Tenth printing, December 2002, ISBN: 1-57870-091-4). I went to the Cisco Cert site and saw that configuring DSL was one of the objectives. This isn't covered in the book and am not sure how/what/if DSL is covered. Can anyone provide some guidance on the exam? Also, does anyone recomend the Boson BCRAN test? If so, how is it compaired to the test?

Thanks!

Know from second hand that xDSL is in, you should know the differences of the various flavors.
The boson test is normally a wee bit harder than the actual test, so if you score like 90% on the Bosons you probably doing ok at the exams.
Good luck.

Thanks for the information. I will take a look at the Boson test tonight. I found a copy of TestKing's 642-821 BCRAN version 1.0 and went through it. I didn't like many of the questions and answers. Felt like they were vague and taken out of context. It had a question about Cable Modems. I'm starting to feel like the book and experiance isn't enough.....

Shadow -

You mentioned that you found the Test-King 642-821 BCRAN test. Can you share that or where you found it?

Thanks!

I do not remember the site. I did a search on google for "BCRAN 642-821 questions" (or something close). I don't put a lot of trust into just running across notes/test on the net. You never know if the content is good. Besides $40 for the Boson test or $60 for the TestKing test notes, is well work the piece of mind of knowing the content is good is worth it.

Just for the record, I took a look at the supposed "cheet sheets" that were floating around and I found several errors on the answers. I would not trust anyone or anything that purports to be "real" questions. Transcender is what I used and while they cost more, the quality is better across the tests then many of the others.
