Antivirus2010/Antivirus1 alter hosts file

This article from CNet says that the newest versions of Antivirus 200x alter the hosts file to take you to fake Download.com, ZDNet, PCMag.com, and other software sites. They currently suggest using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware if their manual method for Antivirus XP 2008 doesn't work.
