All,

We currently do not have any good protection running on our exchange system, the groupware checker for Exchange from McAfee we don't have licensed and the anti virus on the system just attempts to scan the informatio nstore as a file (really really bad I know, I didn't set this up, I'm new here!).

All our ANTI-Virus licensing is up for renewal and I'm faced with renewal between the following:

McAfee (upgrading to the right level of enterprise product with ePo)

Symantec Enteprise 10 (with exchange protection)

Computer Associates e-Trust Antivirus

Personally I do not like McAffee's solutions, never have, I'm really pushing not to go with them. I have used Symantec's systems previously and like them, the CA eTrust is however less expensive and looks like it will be fine for the desktops and workstations HOWEVER does anybody have any experience with eTrust AV with the Exchange modules?

I am very interested in feedback --- actually if you're using eTrust company environment with the central managed solution I would very much like to speak with you further to get your feelings about it --- my AIM screen name is the same as my handle here or I'd be happy to call somebody back.

I curerntly use Trend Micro Client/Server/Messaging Suite and it works very well with Exchange 2K3. I moved on from Symantec Corporate products since they're just getting too expensive and their support sucks. Trend Micro, however, offers free support to its business customres and it takes no time to get through to a person. Client deployemnt is a breeze too, you can do it all from a single computer.

N0ktar --- I'll look at trend micro, thanks for the tip

Marcs41 --- thank you for the link to the other thread, I'm reviewing now.

We are using mx gateway protection through spamsoap and have been extremely extremely happy with that. Unfortunately with 9 locations in 4 states and ONE it person for all 9 places, its hard to make sure each machine is up to date and i can't trust the desktop to make sure it is virus free right now (working on getting there).

I ditched Symantec and went with Sophos. Its brilliant. Auto updating the way it is supposed to be and a really good management interface - no need to site visit!

Good server components too unlike SOME...

We've been deploying XWall as a standard SMTP gateway filter, works real well protecting the mail server and filtering spam.

Sybari's (now Microsoft's) Antigen uses several different engines (Kaspersky, etc) to scan. Awesome concept that works great.
