I posted this in another forum not realizing or just plain forgetting that there was a dedicated forum for this.
Up until today, anytime I received an email with a virus attached, a yellow box would come up and ask me if I wanted to quarantine it. And I would.
Today, a much different looking box appeared telling me that I had a virus at C:\etc. Trojan.sefex. Unable to repair. Only action I could take was OK.
I did have somebody help me in the other forum. I downloaded a patch for OE. And did a Windows update. I have XP Pro.
By the way, I did receive an email from supposedly Norton telling me it had deleted an email with a virus.
Now I ran a scan on my system. Nothing showed up. But I am wondering if I perhaps have missed something. Since it told me that a virus was at a certain location but the scan shows nothing.
Any help much appreciated. To repeat myself, I have updated Windows with a patch for OE specific to this trojan. And ran a total scan of AV.
