I have read that Symantec can spmetimes cause more problems that good for Exchange. What is a good suite to use for AntiVirus protection for my Small Business Server Windows 2000 edition and also for my Exchange 2000 Server?

Really? What/where have you heard this? I've been running Symantecs Enterprise on my Exchange and W2K servers/workstations for a couple years now without any major issues.

I was using Symantec Corp v7.5 and v7.6 and it caused alot of problems with performance and "Requesting Data..." errors on the Outlook 2000/XP clients. We recently switched to GFI MailSecurity with MailEssentials and everything is running great!

Hmm, I had 7.5, 7.6, and now 8.0 (or 8.5?) and experienced no issues such as that. Performance is very good and haven't run into any "Requesting Data" errors. In fact, the only issue we've had is with receiving PPT files that contain other items (like a spreadsheet) embedded.

What about Trend Microsystems?
I am using a 30 day trial for tsting right now.

TechInNeed - That was one instance of an issue that has been resolved for several builds, so why use that as an example? If you bought and installed the current release of Symantec, that isn't an issue.

I think disqualifying a piece of software for an issue that has been resolved isn't good planning, IMO.

We are using Trend Micro scan mail on our Exchange 2000 server and it is working well. We also have the eManager add on for content filtering.

Only been using it in production for a month or so, but so far so good.

btw - we also use there server protect product on or Citrix servers, and it works very well. Using it for about 1 1/2 years now with no problems.

Have also heard good thing about the GFI product.

I'll go along with "g0alie35"

My vote is for GFI MailSecurity with MailEssentials!!!!
