I'm in the process of connecting a ShoreTel system to an existing Avaya S8800 system over a T1 line via QSIG. We keep experiencing disconnects between the two systems and in troubleshooting, the ShoreTel tech has advised that the "Trombone/2 B channel" is disabled.

Problem is I have no idea where that would be and haven't yet seen that configuration in any of the trunk, signaling group, etc. places. Can somebody point in the right direction please?

On your trunk group form, under the QSIG parameters I believe you need to have Path Replacement with Retention set to yes.
