What I need to know is "best practice" for a BCM50 with only 3 C/O lines. I have to forward all calls to the 3rd party answering service, yet still leave a line open for the Doctors to call in at any time.

Currenly, I have one of the Analog Stations set as a closet set forward all to the answering service. At night, my ring group only has that set as a member and it works fine. But it takes up 2 lines, leaving only 2 line for the doctors. If a second call comes in, we don't have any more lines for the redirected call so we get a busy. My question is can we redirect another way not using the lines? Maybe from the LEC? or do I need more lines to the BCM? This is a small satelite office.
Thanks

Put centrex forwarding on your lines, then you can forward off network using carriers switch. Only uses one line.

Where do I get Centrex Forwarding? Is that a service or device or setting?

Thanks

Call your phone company.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

You can purchase call fwding from any carrier now. At that point all you need to do is *72, hear reorder and plug in number desired.
