I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction in finding an answering machine that suits our business needs.
We currently receive aproximately 120 minutes per night of after hours messages which are orders for our customers. These orders are around five to ten minutes each and the customers, in that time will list up to 50 products that they want.
We are using old Panasonic cassette answering machines because it allows us to pause, but more importantly, incrementally rewind the message if the operator misses a product or has trouble understanding what the customer is ordering.
This is the main reason we have not yet made the jump to a digital system. All the consumer answering machines we have seen on the market only allow you to replay the current message from the start instead of incremental fast-forward or rewinding. If the last product of a ten minute order is missed then it means the operator would have to listen to the entire message again after hitting rewind, just to get the last product.
The phone system we are currently using is an LG iPECS 100. This does have the ability to store messages on it but does not have incremental rewinding. The iPECS system has the ability to email the messages as .wav files and I have written a proof of concept application that pulls the attachments off our mail server on to a PC, but for me to fully develop this application to play the messages to the user, would take me a considerable amount of time.
Does anyone know of any digital answering machines on the market that allow you to pause, rewind and fast-forward?
