ok this is a good one guys i have the acs r7 everything is setup ans working fine for me..... but i have a couple of extensions that i need some help with. right now when a call comes in you pick up the handset on the phone and it connects you to the call i want to make it so you have to press the line button that is ringing in order to answer the call on certain extensions.....is this possible ive been reading the book and i can find anything on hoiw to chang this.....thanks in advance

Set that extension to delayed ring or no ring. If the phone rings and you pick it up it will answer.

Yeah if the phone is ringing and you just pick up the handet then the phone is going to answer the call that has been ringing for the longest time.

You could have the users just get in the habit of pressing those lines to answer them if it is causing a problem? I have had users that do heavy call volume pick up the phone to dial out and inadvertently answered a ringng call. I had to change the order of the automatic line selection.

I have an idea, but do not have a system to test it on. If Line access restriction is set to outgoing access only, would it be possible to answer a coverage call from an ext that was ringing?

I tested this and it works, set line access restrictions to outgoing access only for that ext. Then when you see the line flashing, or hear it ringing, press left intercom 6XX, XX= an ext number that is rining on the line. That disallows answering incoming calls unless you press this code code. It does not effect transferred, etc. calls. You can also program a button to do this as well.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.
