Answering calls on a No Ring 18D set

Working on a R8 ACS, call comes in on line one and only rings ext 10. Client at ext 12 wants to answer the call that is ringing on line one but their phone is set to No Ring. They want to be able to touch line one and pick up the call but can't. What do I need to change in the programming to do this?

** Ext 12 does not want their set programmed for immediate ring. I thought about changing it to immediate ring and use the DND when they don't want to be bothered but this also is not an option they want to use.

Also having problems with this set not being able to answer calls transferred from ext 10. I can't re-create this problem though. They say ext 12 can't pickup the transferred call and instead goes to VM.

Equipment is 308EC, Partner Messaging R7, Partner ACS R8

If the line appears on the phone you should be able to pick it up whether it is ringing or not! Unless it is in use and Privacy is active. Please explain in detail what is happening when you try to pick up a NO RING line appearance. Are you using the handset or speakerphone or both to answer? Also provide more detail on the transferred calls problem... Did you try a different phone on station 12, and what were the results?

It is possible that Line 1 is programmed for Out Only or No Access at Ext. 12, or that the Line 1 button is broken.

Look at #302-12-01, be sure it is set to 1-No Restriction, and try another set there, perhaps reassign Line 1 to another button on the set.
