When a phone has an Answer DN programmed on a button to monitor the status or answer calls for a another user's phone:

1) Will the Answer DN indicate if a call is ringing to a Target line appearance on the other phone (and the call can also be answered by pressing the Answer DN button)?

2) If the answer to #1 above is No, would the Answer DN indicate a call is ringing (and allow it to be answered) if the Target line on the other phone was instead programmed as "Ring only" (no line appearance) so that the call rings to the Intercom button on that other phone?

3) If the answer to #1 above is No, but the requirement is that the Target line on the other phone must have its own line appearance, does this mean that the monitoring phone must have both an Answer DN and a button appearance of the other phone's Target line in order to have the capability to monitor and answer calls for it?

Answer DN key does not monitor status.

It does not matter what type of call rings the other set, the answer dn will ring no matter what therefore answers all calls.
Target Line on a set is Inbound Only
To Monitor the other phone you need to program an auto dial for it (Feature * 2)

Thanks - appreciate the response.

Had originally thought the Answer DN display button could provide a DSS/BLF type function and would indicate the on hook/off hook status of the other phone (BLF) . I know that if the Answer DN shows idle it can be used to autodial the other extension (DSS function) - managed to find that in the manual.
