answer dn with did's on 8x24 dr5

I have a 8x24 expanded dr5 with 5 outgoing loop start trunks and 4 did's. Cust has one ext with a 1-800 # pointed to it that they they would like answered in another office.
No trunk appearances on phone, just use line pool to dial out. I tried programming an answer dn on the other phone but it will only answer the internal calls to the first ext
not any outside did calls. Is this possible to do in this release?

okay, where did I go wrong in asking this question. I was being serious. I used to install norstar systems from 88 to 94, then moved over to networking, sub carriers, that sort of thing. I have just recently left the local telco and started up as an independant. I admit that I am not up to speed on all the software releases but I am trying and relearning...school of hard knocks, I guess. So this is a new account I just acquired & I thought the answer dn was a
slam dunk but I couldn't get an audible ring when you called from outside the system on the answer dn. I have just set it up for now as a call forward to the other office when did dn is away from desk. As I mentioned b4 an internal ic call rings ok at answer dn set. Maybe I blanked out and just imagined it didn't ring. By the way I am pretty sure it is dr5 by the program sheets left behind by other supplier but I didn't double check version in maintenance. Thanks again. Sorry you thought I was trying to
pull a fast one. Not intended by any means. I have found this site to be very valuable and as I get more knowledgeable I hope I can contribute helpful suggestions.

One other thing just occured to me, is it because it is a did with no physical line appearances on their sets?

I dont know the answer for sure, but I would try your line appearances suggestion. If that did not do it I would check the line assignment is on 1800 phone, then put an appearance of the line in question on the other extension.
