answer DN on analog port 1

For some reason an answer DN will not work on the built in analog port of a BCM 50. Is that a known limitation?

ANS DN will only work on digital and IP phones.

What I've done in the past is to reverse things. Put the ANSDN on the digital phone of the analog phone and swap the dn's of the analog and digital phones. That way when anyone calls the original dn both phones will ring. In voice mail add the new digital phone dn as a secondary msg phone so it will get the msg waiting notifications.

Follow up question: I could only get dialtone on 2 analog ports, not 4. Is that a licensed feature? Or do I have a bad cable?

That would be a licensed feature. Check in the keycode section for the current list. You can also find the keycode file on any backup copy you have.
