Hi there.

My KSU/software - MDR5 ENG/SP (including DR5.1)

I have ext. 239 setup as the operator
Ext. 239 is also an Answer DN on ext. 235, so that 235 can answer calls to the operator.

a) If an internal intercom call is placed to ext 239, then the Answer DN button on 235 flashes and 235 can pick it up right away.

BUT

b) If an external call comes in and the caller hits 0, the call is transferred to 239, at which point 235 IS able to pick it up but only by selecting the particular line (which is flashing), not by using the Answer DN button. If 235 tries to hit the Answer DN button, it just says "No call answered"

Any ideas why?

Thanks very much!

it should not be happening ... i dont know about DR5 for sure ...

try transferring a call to extn 239, and see if you are able to answer the call (extn A transfers call to 239 and try to pick from 235)

The way it was meant to be, according to an engineer, going back to 3.0

The ANS DN button flaches & rings, use the pickup button to answer the call. ( Both users have to be assigned the same pickup group).

Works every time. This especially applies to a DID system.

Luv2ski has the way of it.

It's like hunt group buttons, if a phone is a member of a hunt group and the lines are assigned to the hunt group then there is no need for them to have those same lines assigned to their phone.

As far as the call is concerned, it's already on the phone (via the line appearance), it has no desire to jump to the hunt group programming.

If 235 isn't answering outside lines directly then they really don't need those lines on their phone to begin with.

Thanks for the tips. So if I understand correctly, I remove the line from x235 and that way I can just use the answer key to pick up the call. I'll try it out.

Cool...
