on a recently installed mics 5.0 i have 3 t7406 w/ an answer dn ringing and appearing. only internal calls cause the answer dn to ring on the cordless handset. external calls will not ring.......what am i missing in the programing? further, the t7406's are new for me. frequently they freeze up in the middle of a call requiring the battery to be removed and reseated. anyone else having problems w/ these?

We've heard of frequent problems with these sets.
On the programming of the Answer DN, are the outside calls ringing straight to the set? As in 222 has an Answer Dn of 221. Are the outside lines ringing straight to 221 or are they line transferred calls?

Under system programming there is a setting for Answer Key. Now it does say that Answer Key changes do not apply to portables and I don't know whether the system considers the 7406 as a portable or not. But change the setting from Basic to Extended and see if that helps.

the current program is the t7406 has a dn of 271. the m7310 has a dn of 227. the t7406 has a ring and appear answer dn for 227. if the central answering position or the auto attendant transfers an outside call the t7406 will not ring. however, if another dn calls 227 the answer dn rings on t7406. ill check the system program....thanx
