I am trying to figure out how to answer a call waiting (putting the current person on hold) from a single line phone on a Merlin Legend sysetem.

According to the documentation, this can be done by pressing a flash and dialing #87. When I press the flash I get a few short "happy" beeps, but the system warbles and does not ansewer the second call. I checked the phone setup and enabling or disabling the call setup does not affect the behavior. I can't figure out how to get this feature to work.

Does anybody know what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks

You may have to set the LENGTH OF THE FLASH.

It is adjustable: System Program > Exit > Options > More > Recall Timer.

If it is TOO SHORT, it will be disregarded by the Central Office, TOO LONG, and it will disconnect.

Play with it and see.....
