ANR8779E Unable to open drive c176t0l0, error number=2

Hi,

have a problem with communication to a StorageTek 9940B drive that is ACSLS attached.

Question:
When I have the Unable to open drive failure, the drive doesn't tell the operating system that the drive is down. In boths TSM and ACSLS it is still available. Event logs in Windows doesn't show anything. Why??
