Hi All,

I've just installed a Linksys WAG54G for a friend. He wanted to use his laptop anywhere in his house wireless. Unfortunately his house has 4 floors. The Wireless router is situated on the top level and the signal is great until you get to the last 2 floors.

How I increase the signal on these lower 2 floors is the problem. Can I get another wireless device to 'boost' the signal?

Any help gratefully received!

regards,

Nell

You can use NetStumbler to find a better location in the house for the device, at the moment half your signal is shooting through the roof.

Personally, I would return the device and purchase the WRT54G. You may have to purchase seperately an ADSL modem, or obtain one from your ISP.

Having done that as the alternative, then please see this recent discussion: thread916-837246

And having done that, you could place the WRT54G at the site of the WAG54G, and enhance the antenna performance with this simple and free use of parabolic reflectors: This will prevent the signal from being wasted.
