Hi guys,

SBT pro series 5.0i

I keep getting the window that says "Another user is releasing entries to general ledger from this application. Unable to release to GL." in Inventory Control. And I'm sure that nobody is/or in the middle of doing this action.

Reindexing application/system files did not work, clearing all flags did not work, clearing users did not work, clearing locks gave me these error message:

Error 15: Not a database file
Called from: SMTCLF Line number 395

Error 13: ALIAS not found
Called from: SMTCLF Line number:460
Program code causing error:
.NOT.DELETED()

And resulted in 0 locks

How do I release entries to GL and get rid of the message that another user is releasing entries...etc? I don't know what caused this, but there was a power outage while I was in the middle of something a while ago.

I'll provide more information when needed. Thanks for the help.

Update:

When I'm releasing to GL under IC, I would get the following errors:

Error 15: Not a database file
Called from: G_OPNFL Line number: 34345

Error 52: No database in use
Called from: L_OPSKGL Line number: 1520
Program code causing error:
.NOT.EMPTY(COMPID+YEARPRD).AND.NOT.DELETED()

Error13: ALIAS not found
Called from: L_LCKKGL Line number:444
Program code causing error:
.NOT.EMPTY(COMPID+YEARPRD)AND.NOT.DELETED()

Error13: ALIAS not found
Called from: L_LCKKGL Line number:451
Program code causing error:
.NOT.EMPTY(COMPID+YEARPRD)AND.NOT.DELETED()

I would then have to close SBT and restart it again, and when I tried to release to GL under IC, I got the message "Aonther user is releasing entries to GL from this application. Unable to release to GL."

Hi kaispeedy:

Good day!

We actually have the same scenario while trying closing SBT for a particular month (aug 2011 closing). In the company, we regularly do this every month. And while doing this, somebody has accidentally turn off the power source of our file server while SBT already in the middle of the process.

In short, the process has been interrupted and sad to say that as soon as I tried to do it again, it says that "Another user releasing..." and even though I log as a system manager and clear all flag, and tried again, a program error has been noted.

I noticed that during unexpected power failure, my "ictranxx.dbf", though the records were intact, but one the index has been corrupted. What I did is I copy the ictranxx.dbf to drive c: then deleted this file including the other file related to this (cdx, bak etc). Then I retrieve my backup ictranxx.dbf including cdx and copy to my working directory. I open ictranxx, then "zap" the records. Then I open the copy in the drive c:, then append to ictranxx.dbf. Re-Indexes this files, then execute closing again, so far, works fine.

Hope this helps

The releasing programs look at the "dist" tables, not the "tran" tables. ICDIST, ICYDST, ARDIST, ARYDST, APDIST, APYDST and the Payroll dist and ydst tables. Could be trouble there.

But clearing flags for all modules in the affected company usually fixes this unless a dist table is corrupted.
