I've tried to install Access 97 alongside the existing Office 2000 Small Business on my computer. It won't open due to "can't find the db you specified"; this appears in a modal msgbox, so there's no choice but to accept and retreat. I currently manage to run 97 via the .exe from CD just fine, but this doesn't allow for downloads and also the CD ROM drive gets to be like listening to a vacuum cleaner after a while.

Any way to address this other than a court to MS to top strong-arming people into upgrades?

I have both installed but
You have to install Access '97 first then Access 2000 in that order.
Now when I luanch Access '97 it works fine
Launch AC 2000 and I get a Message (not an Error) Please wait Installing components.
This is normal
AC 2000 and Ac '97 share the same file names but different versions so AC 2000 is doing some shuffling.
Now when you install 2000 you have to choose the option leave existing Access intact or it won't work.
