From another forum:

Can you make a good product with Visual Basic? Sure. But would you want to? I wouldn't. It's like code-by-number & it's for moms, seniors, & all together computer programming degenerates that require constant hand-holding.

Are we going to take this kind of abuse lying down? :)

An unforeseen consequence of the information revolution has been the exponential propagation of human error.

I just figure these are script kiddies living in Mom's basement.

A really experienced C++ programmer who actually knows VB will admit its value even if he hates using it himself. The rest don't know enough to have an opinion anyway.

I think a good number of the "VB is crap" comments come from people who started out trying to use it but never developed their knowledge far enough to do a good job with it. After they failed at VB they moved to something else, and by about the third hop finally knew enough to get something done.

It's a poor workman who blames his tools.

Of course it doesn't help that so many unskilled copy/paste coders tend to gravitate to VB because of the wealth of sample code out there to be copied.

It's just like grade school...you ignore them and hope when they grow up they learn how wrong they were.

You can write crap with any language, same as you can write good stuff with any language. It is nothing to do with the language.

I have to agree with xwb.....

Unfortunatly I am better at the first part of His comment
