Ok, here is another question.
We are doing some testing and it would seem we are seeing the following results.
backing up 40 gig of "users" data we get about 13.34 gig/hr but if backup one 42 gig file, we get about 22 gig/hr.
So, has anyone else noticed how Legato doesn't seem to like backing up alot of files ie, slows down dramatically.

Hey,

I've seen this with all backup products.. It has more to do with the tape drive than anything else.. There are a couple of things you can do.

You can back it up as a "raw" file system, but the catch is, you won't be able to restore an individual file.. You'd have to restore the whole thing.

An alternative to that is Legato's SnapImage module.. I'm not sure if they have released an NT version yet, but I believe it will perform a block by block copy of the fs, thus making it a lot faster, and allow you to restore individual files.. Check out the website for more info..

Good luck!!!
