This is kind of a fossil request ... back BG (before GUI) when the ASCII set was expanded to use LINE DRAW characters Word would construct table boxes using the ASCII set.
Indeed if I use Word 97 on a Windows 95 Machine and analyze the PLC4 commands in a Print to file this is what is used.
Now move this same Word Document to an XP machine and doing a print to file ... the file size doubles because XP is not using the Line Draw Characters instead it is converting table lines some GUI equivalent.
Does anyone know if it is possible to instruct Word and or the Printer Driver HP laserjet 4 in XP to use the line draw Characters?
