Hi guys, I read the other post about the hijack on the first page, as I am having similar problems. However, the steps did not help out. Google will not load, neither will some sites either via links on webpages or by typing the address in.

I also pinged the sites that weren't working and the request would time out. The Hosts file on my pc is blank.

Following is the list of processes running on my pc via HijackThis. (Deleted the blank BHO with NoFile already, still having problems)

A few explainations for why the proxy and www/ are there as start pages and whatever else. Thats simply the way the ISP works with our cable internet connection.

Any help as to what I can do to remedy this situation would be much appreciated!!!

Thank you all.

WCMDMGR.EXE
Is Wild Tangent's phone home app. Get rid of it unless you play their games.

Remove this in safe mode.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wcmdmgr] C:\WINDOWS\wt\updater\wcmdmgrl.exe -launch

It's wild tangent again. But I'm not sure it's causing ALL the problems.
Reboot and see what happens.
Also check msconfig for startups.
Remove the ones which relate to wild tangent if not already gone.
Also search for and delete wcmdmgrl.exe

This I'm not sure of

Post back fresh log.

It was all WildTangent's doing!!!

Followed your steps and bingo, started dancing as Google loaded for the first time in a week.

Thank you very much for your help in this matter!

Just a thought Drac, if you have any kind of goback software or restore points(never used Me but I don't think it does) make sure you clear any restore points to flush the system.
Then turn the restore feature back on.

ME has system restore just like XP. If not disabled, removed items will likely return on boot.
