That's sad. I see mention of fines, and assets seized, but no mention of arrests for what are clearly criminal acts. They will just go set up shop again using a different business name.

It seems like if someone was robbing banks and liquor stores, and the police caught them and just took away theirs guns and getaway car, and then sent them on their way. That's not even a slap on the wrist, it's getting away scot free.

Financial satisfaction of the FTC does not equal justice.

Yeah, it'll make a dent, but not fix the problem unfortunately, especially if not doing anything with the PEOPLE who carried out the acts rather than the computers.

Speaking of, I wonder where/how they are going to sell the hardware...

The ISP's computer servers and other assets have been seized and will be sold by a court and the operation has been ordered to give back $1.08 million to the FTC.

I wonder if they'll use eBay, craigslist, StealItBack, etc. I often see confiscated property sold by police agencies there but I don't know about the federal government. I used to have a link to a government auction site but I lost it long ago. They even sold tanks and jets on that site (but only to authorized buyers.)
