How do I find out if there is or can there be more than one Voice mail box assigned to a single extension. Reason being...I have a mailbox with no messages in it, but the message light is still on. I have reinitialized the mail box, no luck...deleted and recreated the mail box, no luck...and for fun tried a different phone, with you guessed it, no luck.

Check the General Mailboxes, 9991, 9992, 9993, and 9994.

Turn it off manually through the menu on the phone, see if it comes back later.

In Maintenance, go to System, Update MWI, clear the lights and then refresh to see if it stays off.
 
How do I check to see if a general mailbox is assigned to a particular extension? I have done the manual light turn off three times so I am guessing that there is another mailbox assigned to this extension, but don't know how to check for this. Thanks!
 
When you are in the programming section of the System Administrator's mailbox, option 1 is System Parameters. Listen for the choice for General Mailbox Owner, then you will input the AA number (1, 2, 3, or 4), you will hear the owner and have a chance to change it.
