Hi friends,

When we change the name on an extension in WMC, the Communications Assistant Pro desktop client never recognizes the change unless the user deletes the entry - or the whole contact list - and then uses the feature to add contacts from PBX extensions. Same for deleting an extension: they are not removed from the list in CA Pro using the "add" updating feature.

Anyone know the trick to make it work so users don't have to delete and re-add the contact list?

Thank you in advance for any and all tips!

CA collects PBX data only when start. Try it start CA again .

There are no stupid questions, there are only stupid answers!

Hi Kizo,

Thanks for that. Seems to be true.

I wish there was a way to put the address book data in the PBX so CA will download it from the PBX, i., In CAR if I modify a contact and add a cell number it is not pushed to the PBX.

You can modify PBX's System Speed Dial via CA.

But remember - this option is NOT available if you logged in into WebMC of PBX.

It's handy for sure but it doesn't make the name appear on the pop-up, a required feature I didn't mention earlier. Only solution I see is for each user to add the contact manually to their own Business or Private Contact List Group

Strange, but it works by default.

See screenshots below:

Hello Ired,
Thanks for another detailed post. I wish I was seeing the same result.

On my CA I have the same settings as you show in 1a).

I get a pop-up for an incoming call but the pop-up only shows the calling number. The pop-up does not show the speeddial name.

However, on the KX-NT553 handset, the name for the Speedial *does* appear. Also when I get an email that a call was missed it also has the Speeddial name. Interesting!

Please let me know if you have any more ideas.

Thank you!

Check your CallerID modifications: SpeedDial record (according to CA screenshots) starts with "9140" but CallerID at PT dispay starts with "40". If you have "9" as Local Accees code then where is the digit "1"?

Hi Ired,

Thank you for the question.

I have no idea why this is happening but yes I just tested a couple more times and "140" is shown on CA pop-up while on PT it does not have the 1, just the 10-digit calling number.

Which is the real number You have to dial to call destination? (just first digits, e.g. 1234xxxxxx)
Which is the Local Access code at your PBX?
Did You check Caller ID Modification tables (PBX Configuration - 3-1-3)?
