OK, I bumped into another word I didn't know till I just looked it up. My first thought was that it was a misspelled word... next thought, "well I wonder what they were trying for?" hmmm maybe I ought to look it up.

'Perq' doesn't follow the English spelling rules for the 'K' sound at the end of the word, and, since 'perk' is used as an independent word, it should follow those rules regardless of its derivation.
