We keep on getting a pdox usrs.lck error on Windows XP(professional). It's on a network and we have Windows '98 on the server. If we run the program local on XP(professional) then the error dissappears. We also don't get any problems with the Windows '98 machines on the network. We use one Idapi.cfg file (in BDE we just point the cfg on each machine to it). What should we do????

lemonjuice,

Depends. What's the error?

Also, there are certain configuration changes you'll want to make on servers running NT-based operating systems, such as Win 2K or XP. I've detailed these in other threads, but the short list of URL references is:

-- outlines a series of things to check when configuring Paradox for an NT-derived server.

-- details ways to help BDE run effectively in general. While written for a Delphi/C++ Builder perspective, the information is useful for other BDE clients, such as Paradox for Windows, Visual dBASE, etc.

-- shows how configure Paradox effectively for networked environments.

-- helps resolve errors that can appear when running older versions of Paradox (e.g. Paradox 7.32) under recent versions of Windows.

Hope this helps...

-- Lance
