Hi All,

I probably should know this but....

I need to find out what a Network Card is capable of speed and link wise. I ran ndd -get commands and saw that 100/full was a 1 (enabled) 10/full 1, etc.... So I guess my main question would be that ndd says 100/full is 1 does that mean the card is capable of 100/full or is that a common setting?

I have a client machine on an E450 running Solaris 6. Speed and link are 10/half. Their switch is also set to 10/half.
I want to have then set their switch to autoneg but I need to be sure of the capabilities of the card.

Is there a way to get the "make and model" of the NIC in the system?

Thanks,

Thanks sbrews,

That script actually works better than the one I have been using. Great info the way I want it!

Still, I need to know if a card is capable of 100/full

Do a ifconfig -a and see what nic cards you have.

On a E450 the nic card is hme0 which is 100/full.

If you are using a different nic then do a google on it or check Suns site.
