As for the final pun of thic comic, isn't it spelled "flatulence", not "flatulance"?

w00t!

I want to be good, is that not enough?

Stella,

Yes, it's spelled "flatulence". "Flatulance" is a combination of flatulence and ambulance

Opus is making a "mashup" of the words flat (having been squashed) and ambulance (the rescue vehicle). The fact that the result of combining the two sounds like flatulence is meant to be a source of humor.

Isn't that Bill D. Cat?

Is 'mash-up' similar to 'portmanteau'? Or am I being old-fashioned?
