Another combo nox question

I am trying to put together a table with a name, a (Red Cross) class, and the expiration date of their training. Since a "name" can have might have taken mutiple classes I wanted to use a combo box to list all the names I have entered as I go. It works fine if I enter the data for one student, exit the form and then go back - the students name appears in the list the next time. How can I do this without exiting the form?
((sorry for the newbie question!))
