Does Nortel offer an Anonymous Call Rejection feature? I couldn't find it in any NTPs. If it is available is it a trunk feature, or programmed by telephone, and how do you program it? I have a 61C running Rls 4.5 The reason I ask is because my executives decided they do not want to answer calls that do not display the telephone number.

I don't think that it's available in the PBX world as the PBX doesn't control inbound ANI

You may be able to screen using a personal call director.

Tell the whiners to not answer their phone then.

The latest survey shows that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the population.

Gee I had a $10,000,000 deal I wanted to do with them but no one answered the phone, so I called another company. I guess I'll call the President of that company and tell him no one wanted to take a call from me because they didn't know who I was.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Its a bit of overkill, but this has been discussed several times in the Symposium forum.

I for one have usd Symposium for call filtering on incoming CLI, mainly for HR purposes. Filtering on unknown is a bit of a sledge hammer / nut situation.

The first time someone does not get a call from their husband/wife saying their child has been rushed to hospital because they called from an unlisted number, HR will make you remove the feature right after the angry tirade they get from the employee.

Just a thought ....

Well they do have this service available. It costs about 35K to 60K per year, at a recurring charge, depending on how well they want it to work.

Have them go to HR and fill out a personnel req and hire an assistant. Then they don't have to answer any calls they don't want to. Their assistant can just tell them they are on a conference call and can't be disturbed.

Then they will ask you about BFS keys.

I would like to know why they don't want to answer a call unless they know who it is, Has this been approved by the President of the company. I would get this request in writing before I would spend any more time on it.

I really don't want to implement a feature like this either. I was just doing my due diligence. The request did come straight from the executives, so all I can do is advise them of how bad an idea it is. Ultimately, they sign my check... Anyway, I use SECC not the full blown Symposium. I'm not clear if you guys were saying its available with Symposium at 35 to 60K??? If so, I'll check with my vendor. Thanks again for all your responses. Believe me, I agree with each and everyone of you!
