Ok - we don't allow our salespeople to edit sales orders once they have been printed. We've learned from experience that they screw up everything.

Previously when using SmartList to look up orders, they had the option to open the order in Inquiry Zoom instead of being prompted for a password trying to edit the order.

Microsoft - in their infinite wisdom (no offense Dave, you've been most helpful around here) - decided to make the system more "intelligent." If the order is not in history, open it in SOP entry - if in history, open it in inquiry zoom. All this from a single default option in the "Go To a Microsoft Dynamics GP window" button.

Is there any way to re-enable the functionality that would allow an order that is not in the history yet, but has been printed to be opened (from the SmartList) in Inquiry Zoom?

I just did some testing.

The theory is that if you deny security access to the Sales Transaction Entry window, then Smartlist should open the Sales Transaction Inquiry Zoom window instead. But that is not working. It opens the Receivables Transaction Inquiry - Customer window.

I have created the following problem report for this issue.

39261: Smartlist opens the incorrect window when zooming to WORK SOP documents and access is denied to SOP_Entry

If you want to log a support case you can get your details added against this bug to increase the customer count and also you can possibly ask for it to be escalated. I can't do more without having a support case.

Well - apparently there isn't a way, at the current time.

Thanks for the information Dave. As always, you've been most helpful.
