Hi all,
As a newbie to XP Pro I thought I was doing well, I look after approx 50 PC's running on a 2003 server domain. All the machines perform as expected and browsing through the settings on each machine I find things are as they should be, except MY machine. In Explorer instead of the default folder location being c:\docs and settings\myname.domainname it is c:\docs and settings\TEMP.
It used to be OK because my ost files for outlook are still in \myname.domainname but nothing else seems to be. I have tried copying everything out of Temp to a "temp" location and then deleting the folder in the hope it would reselect the myname.domainname location but I get the "User.dat file in use" message even if logged on as local admin.
We use roaming profiles and a couple of months ago I received the "cannot find roaming profile on the server" message but then after another attempt it seemed to log on OK. Don't know if this problem goes back to then.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated as my Supporting XP Professional course is not scheduled until May.
cheers
